Can everyone really lead? What does that look like? Hi, I’m Chris Green and I’m Brianna. This is the When Everyone Leads podcast. We’re coming from the Kansas Leadership Center, an organization that recently published a book called When Everyone Leads. Leadership is something you do. Not something you are. Leadership is about putting the challenge at the center and working with other people, not just taking charge. We’ve been sent on a quest. We're inspired by this book, but how do people actually put it into practice? How does this apply to civic issues? What is clear? What is messy and complicated? This is When Everyone Leads on Immigration, Civic Culture, Polarization. Just the word immigration intimidates so many people. It sounds so simple. #1. Welcome people. #2. Think about how to do that authentically and with humanity and make it not about you. We believe that one of the biggest threats to our democracy and our country is that the polarization continues to grow each and every year with every single election, whether that be at a local, state, or federal level. I don't know. Do we think that's the vibe we're going for? I like that vibe.
